Dell PowerEdge C1100 servers might be the small guys in the cloud server series – but don’t let their size fool you. C1100 servers pack just as big of a punch in their 1U chassis as the others do in their larger 2U forms. So while they’re the featherweights, think of C1100 servers as the Manny Pacquiao versus a skinny kid from suburbia with no real fighting prowess. The power that the Dell C1100 provides is derived from a truly massive amount of disk and storage capacity, as it is configured with 18 Dual Inline Memory Modules (DIMMs) for up to 144 Gigabytes (GB) of Double Data Rate 3 (DDR3) memory and up to 10 disks, depending on the size of the disk. For instance, PowerEdge C1100 cloud servers can handle either 4 3.5” disks or 10 2.5” disks, whether the disks are hot-pluggable Serial Attached SCSI (SAS), Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA) or Solid State Drives (SSD).
