Dell PowerEdge 2950 Servers

Tired of system updates? The Dell PowerEdge 2950 server series features an innovative hardware design and software commonality that makes constant system updates a thing of the past – minimizing them for your peace of mind. Not only are the software updates minimized, but the entire server system is fairly minimal in itself since it is configured in a space-efficient 2U form factor. However, there’s nothing minimal about the guts of the Dell 2950 servers – it’s packed full of high performance components and advanced, integrated technologies. For instance, 2950 servers are outfitted with up to 2 quad-core Intel Xeon processors, which your choice of series from: 5300, Low Volt 5300, 5100, Low Volt 5100 and 5000 series. The Intel Xeon processors provide Dell 2950 servers with exceptional performance per watt, and that’s not the only Intel Xeon technology - they also feature an Intel 5000x chipset and Intel Xeon cache sequence.

Intel Xeon technology isn’t the only advantage that Dell PowerEdge 2950 servers provide – in fact, that’s just one of the many shiny, sparkling gems that these particular Dell rack servers have to offer. Others include 6 internal hard drive bays that allow for up to 4.5 Terabytes (TB) of maximum internal storage capacity, as well as 8 Dual Inline Memory Module (DIMM) slots for up to 32 Gigabytes (GB) of fully buffered Double Data Rate 2 (DDR2) memory, embedded dual gigabit Network Interface Cards (NICs) and support for up to 8 2.5” Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) drives. And while these components are all pretty fantastic, the support for up to 3 PCIe slots and a TCP/IP offload engine of 2950 servers are the real attention-grabbers since they offer enhanced I/O throughput and Central Processing Unit (CPU) performance gains.
