HP BladeSystem Virtual Interconnects

Thinking of jumping on the virtualization bandwagon? Or already have a virtualized environment and looking for hardware that will help you better utilize this environment? Well then you’ve come to the right place, since HP BladeSystem virtual interconnects are developed using HP’s new and exciting Virtual Connect technology. This technology enables your IT staff to spend less time coordinating their server, storage, network efforts, and actually focus on their billion other tasks and your to-do wish list - like having a NASA-command-station equivalent in your office. Virtual Connect technology is such a breakthrough compared to the technology used by previous generations to connect Land Area Networks (LANs) and Storage Area Networks (SANs) because it eliminates the disadvantages that plagued that technology. For example, Virtual Connect technology does not require lots of expensive cabling and it doesn’t require multiple people handling what should be quick and easy tasks.

And so by improving upon the traditional route of switches and pass thru modules, the Virtual Connect technology of HP BladeSystem virtual interconnects is equipped to carry your company, kicking and screaming if need be, into the future. One of the most incredible things about HP’s Virtual Connect technology is that it is utilized within a wide range of HP products, and encompasses many other technologies under this broad heading. One such technology that it includes is HP Virtual Connect Flex-10. While a new and exciting technology, HP Virtual Connect Flex-10 is at times perceived as scary by those that don’t fully understand the technology and all of the many advantages that it provides. For instance, the HP Virtual Connect Flex-10 10 Gigabit (Gb) Ethernet Module is the only HP BladeSystem virtual interconnect that fully supports this technology through supporting connectivity to Flexible Network Interface Cards (Flex-NICs). This allows for 4x the number of NIC connections per NIC port, as well as reducing any required network hardware by as much as 75%.
