Designed in a compact, half-height blade form factor, HP ProLiant BL490c Generation 6 (G6) server blades can fill an HP C3000 blade enclosure with 8 server blades and an HP C7000 blade enclosure with 16 server blades. In addition to their compact form factor, HP ProLiant BL490c G6 servers offer the advantage of maximized performance with high memory capacity and optimized network throughput. For example, HP BL490c G6 server blades come equipped with 18 DIMM slots for a maximum of 192GB of DDR3 memory capacity. Configured with an embedded dual-port 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) multi-function adapter, HP ProLiant BL490c G6 servers offer exceptional network throughput as well as support for up to 8 Network Interface Cards (NICs) when using the Virtual Connect Flex-10 technology. The maximum number of NICs that an HP BL490 G6 supports is up to 24.

Also featuring robust I/O bandwidth, HP ProLiant BL490c G6 servers feature 2 I/O mezzanine expansion slots and many other performance-enhancing features.
