The HP ProLiant DL360 G5 rack server offers the most optimized design with a 1U form factor, making it ideal for the space constrained data centers of dynamic small and medium-sized businesses. Some of the most common applications of the DL360 G5 in those environments include corporate infrastructure, web hosting, High Performance Computing (HPC) and high availability clustering. The DL360 G5 works so well for these applications because it is able to offer exceptional performance and high memory capacity despite its small stature. With features such as essential fault tolerance and web-based remote management, the DL 360 G5 server is able to provide greater robustness and ensures that the system will be available when you need it to by identifying and withstanding any potential faults. Additionally, the HP DL360 G5 is equipped with up to 8 slots of Fully-Buffered Dual In-line Memory Modules (FB-DIMMs), enabling a Double Data Rate 2 (DDR2) memory capacity of up to 64 Gigabytes (GB).

The internal configuration of the DL360 G5 allows for a high level of flexibility, allowing it to support a large variety of applications and making it fairly customizable to specific requirements. For instance, while the DL360 G5 comes standard with 2 Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCI-E) x8 expansion slots, the option is available for Peripheral Component Interconnect eXtended (PCI-X) expansion slots.
