IBM HS21 Blade Servers

IBM HS21 Blade Servers » Vista Computer Group

The IBM BladeCenter HS21 Blade is a robust and dynamic server that can be custom configured to meet any number of needs in the datacenter.  Fitting up to 14 in as small as a 7U space in a rack makes them one of the most efficient ways to use your space; limiting your heat output and power consumption.  Utilizing existing power and networking infrastructure and using a single point of access for a systems administrator, just a handful of these systems can be worth the investment.

This blade comes standard with either one or two Dual-Core or Quad-Core processors, 1 or 2GB of RAM (expandable up to a max of 32GB across 4 DIMM Slots,) and the capacity for two internal SAS hard drives. The HS21 also contains dual integrated Ethernet ports and a single PCI slot. Of course, all of these capacities can be increased with the addition an Expansion Blade available separately.

IBM HS21 blades with either the 35 Watt or 80 Watt processors can be used in every BladeCenter chassis that IBM Offers.  Models containing 120 Watt processors can be used in most chassis except the E Chassis (Model 8677) unless it’s got four of the upgraded power supply modules installed.  This isn’t a worry in IBM’s popular H Chassis series.

Although the IBM HS21 is not the latest and greatest blade available, it continues to prove itself day in and day out in the harshest IT environments. For such an affordable price, it remains a viable and robust option for any datacenter.
