The IBM System x3550 server’s sleek, 1U design can be deceiving. Packed inside that 1.75” frame is the processing power of one or two Dual-Core or Quad-Core Processors ranging from 1.6GHz to 3.16GHz and a cache size of 4MB, 8MB, or 12MB. Its small size means less energy consumption and less space but not at the cost of lost throughput.

The IBM x3550 has 2 PCI slots, dual integrated Ethernet ports and open bays for either 4 2.5” Small Form Factor or 2 3.5” Large Form Factor Drives depending on the server model. With available redundant hot-swappable power supplies, the x3550 can be fully redundant, greatly reducing the risk of downtime.

With 42 1U systems in a 42U rack with dual Quad-Core processors and 32GB of memory in each system, the x3550 has some of the highest computing power per cubic inch available. These popular systems are still available as a cost effective, super efficient solution for any environment.
