Sun SPARC T1000 Servers

As 1U rack servers, Sun SPARC T1000 servers are high-performance, enterprise-class servers in a deceptively compact and space-efficient form. Featuring CoolThreads Chip-Multi threading technology (CMT), Sun T1000 servers are able to simultaneously execute up to 32 threads while drawing only 220 watts of power or less. As a result of their comparatively low power consumption, T1000 rack servers are environmentally-friendly servers. Additional benefits of Sun Fire T1000 servers include investment protection, since T1000 servers offer SPARC V9 binary application compatibility, as well as being pre-loaded with the Oracle Solaris 10 operating system (OS) for the latest technologies and Advanced Lights Out Manager (LOM) for simple and easy management. With all of these features and more, Sun T1000 servers are ideal for applications such as streaming media, web serving and network infrastructure, and can also work as java application servers, java virtual machines, and more.

Sun T1000 servers are configured from a variety of components, each of which endows it with a particular performance feature. For instance, Sun SPARC T1000 servers are equipped with a 6 or 8 core UltraSPARC T1 processor, which operates at 1 GigaHertz (GHz) and enables T1000 processors to operate quickly and efficiently. Sun T1000 rack servers are also equipped with up to 8 Dual Inline Memory Modules (DIMM) slots, which allow for a maximum memory capacity of up to 32 Gigabytes (GB). Additionally, these particular Sun rack servers can be outfitted with either 1 Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) drive or 2 Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA) disk drives, and offers support for both RAID 0 and 1 – which provide either striping or mirroring capabilities depending on the RAID type. Yet another performance feature of T1000 servers includes the integration of Solaris Containers technology for built-in virtualization capabilities, resulting in increased utilization and reduced costs for both the system and licensing.
