Basically, Sun SPARC T3-4 servers are the Brahma bull of the Sun T-series. They’re big, they’re dense and they’re agile enough to keep up with your data center’s future needs. PROVE IT, you say? Alright, well the “big” statement is easy to defend, as Sun T3-4 servers are 5U rack servers; however, up to 8 T3-4 servers can fit within a standard data center rack. As for the “dense” statement, that gets a bit more complicated but is actually just as easy to defend because of one single component - the T3-4’s processors. Sun SPARC T3-4 servers can be configured with either 2 or 4 SPARC T3 processors. What makes these particular processors so amazingly dense is that they are jam-packed with 16 cores. An astonishing figure, the 16 cores of the SPARC T3 processors allow T3-4 servers to simultaneously execute up to 512 computing threads. And if that doesn’t back up the “dense” statement, I just don’t know what would.

Now to defend the “agile” statement….this one might be a bit tricky, since agile is a bit of an odd adjective to use for a server. But hey, who wants to play it safe all the time? As it happens, “agile” is a fitting descriptor of Sun SPARC T3-4 servers. This is because Sun T3-4 rack servers are exceptionally scalable since the built-in virtualization technology of Oracle VM Server for SPARC as well as Oracle Solaris Containers allows T3-4 servers to scale up to 128 virtual systems within a single server. Furthermore, Sun SPARC T3-4 servers offer speed with integrated, on-chip cryptographic acceleration and high throughput with robust I/O performance that endows T3-4 servers with ability to support up to 16 PCIe modules – and even more when adding the optional I/O expansion unit.
